What/who is TWU Local 527
The Transport Workers Union of America, founded in New York City in 1934, is a labor union based in the U.S. The TWU represents more than 100,000 workers here and abroad in many different fields in collective bargaining with their respective employers, both public and private.
TWU Local 527 is our local branch of the TWU, representing over 700 workers employed by nine companies on three U.S. military installations – Fort Gordon, GA, Fort McCoy, WI, and Fort Lee, VA. Local 527 also represents the transit employees in the Augusta/Richmond County, GA.
Organizing and Representation Process
